The following command allowed me to change the persona of the Extreme Networks AP 305C-WR from WING to become a cloud based AP. After changing the OS and a reboot the AP was able to connect to Cloud IQ.

#operational-mode xiq-cloud force

Configuration is reset, device will reboot to xiq-cloud force operational mode
